Nagle Institute Faculty Development

June 2-16, 2009

The CCCU and Nagel Institute are sponsoring a
Faculty Development Seminar:

PUBLIC THEOLOGY: The South African Experience

Around the world, new Christian political movements are arising. Nigerian Chrisitans respond to the institution of Sharia law. Evangelicals in the United States debate about the Religious Right. “People Power” movements, spurred by Christian NGOs, have become a feature of Filipino politics. And in Brazil, the most prominent Pentecostal denomination sponsors a slate of legislative candidates. Christians worldwide are politically active and often influential, whether or not they have engaged in careful, principled thought.

In order to engage North American and African Christian scholars in some fresh Christian political thinking, the CCCU and the Nagel Institute are offering an interdisciplinary seminar in Johannesburg/Pretoria and Cape Town, South Africa.
