Women’s History Grants

If you are working on a women’s history or gender studies topic, here are some grants that could be useful:

Feminist Review Trust
To advance the education of the public in the subject of gender by carrying out research and/or assisting the research and study into the social, economic and legal position of women in society and to disseminate the results of such research and study.” For use in a variety of forums including conferences, workshops, teaching materials, and oral histories.

The Woodrow Wilson Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship in Women’s Studies
This award “encourages original and significant research about women that crosses disciplinary, regional, or cultural boundaries… provided to Ph.D. candidates at institutions in the United States who will complete their dissertations during the fellowship year.”

Also, check with your university. The University of Houston, for example, offers one fellowship for women, and another for men or women doing a topic in women’s studies.
